sindh mohanjo darro history

Mohanjo Daro, also known as Mohenjo-daro, is an
archaeological site located in the Sindh province of modern-day Pakistan. It was one of the largest cities of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization, which is believed to have existed from around 2600 BCE to 1900 BCE.

Mohanjo Daro was an urban settlement with a complex system of drainage and infrastructure, including brick-lined streets, large public bathhouses, and multi-story buildings. The people of Mohanjo Daro had a sophisticated system of weights and measures, and a form of writing, which has yet to be deciphered.

The city was discovered in the 1920s and since then, numerous excavations have taken place, revealing much about the daily life and culture of its residents. However, the decline and eventual abandonment of Mohanjo Daro is still not well understood, and theories range from environmental factors such as floods to invasions by neighboring civilizations.

Today, Mohanjo Daro is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors from all over the world interested in the ancient civilization and its rich history.
